Amazing Adventures in Beautiful Places
In July I attended the Minding Animals conference in Newcastle, which rapidly developed into the leading conference for several years in the human-animal studies field. Philosophers, artists, animal welfare scientists and other fascinating types were abundant among over 400 delegates from around the world. I also seized the opportunity to visit friends and family in Perth, Adelaide and Sydney.
The cruise back up the Swan River to the city was at sunset. Most people go to Rottnest for the day, but with a youth hostel and other accomodation it's possible to stay longer.
