This was basically a very cool haunted house. Horribly decomposing bodies and skeletons would lunge at you from the walls. From an inner chamber you could watch other people via hidden cameras, and press buttons that caused things to lunge at them from the walls :) Jackal statues would occasionally come to life and chase people out of the exit. All wonderful stuff :)
Our ‘train’ traveled along a pier next to this lake, which was used for the filming of Jaws. Periodically throughout our ride, and on many of the tours, things would go 'wrong.’ First the train ‘broke down.’ Next this boat ‘caught fire.’ Next a diver in the water ‘disappeared.’ And finally, Jaws himself reared out of the water and almost ate our train :) His teeth are still in pretty good condition. They barely missed my nose :)
This show was the best of all. You had a choice of sitting in the ‘dry, splash or soak’ zones. Full-length raincoats were adviseable for the latter and some families came prepared. During the ½ hour wait prior to the start, actors would ‘adopt’ a section of the audience, and if they didn’t cheer, wave, or otherwise perform better on command than a rival actor’s section of the audience, would receive buckets of water from the lake! We were pretty good so we stayed mostly dry …
The show itself consisted of lots of high-speed boating around the lake, acrobatic chases up the towers, people leaping off towers and high ropes into the lake, and gunfire and explosions all over the place. It was very, very good.
The highlight was when a full-size flying boat was catapulted over the rear fence to come crashing down into the lake, slamming into the wall just in front of the middle section of the audience.
The Jurassic Park ride involved traveling in boats along a river. Part-way into the jungle, empty, damaged boats became visible. Hats floated alone upon the water. We followed the river into a large cave and heard the emergency announcement, ‘The velociraptors have broken loose! We are attempting to evacuate you ...’ After a few more stunts we finally emerged from the cave down this massive water slide!
The splashdowns were spectacular! Those in the boats got soaked, but oddly, not as much as their idiot photographers!
