Sea Kayaking, Brighton, UK, in May.

Once again my 21st birthday loomed. And so I was kidnapped and bundled onto a train with everything from hiking boots to sandals and bathers. I guessed I was going to Bristol, but was taken sea-kayaking in Brighton!

No comfortable yachts for us, however. We went sea-kayaking with friends. Extremely good friends, as Jasmijn somehow managed to arrange a storm (she does this every time we go sea-kayaking). Because it was my birthday, I was chosen to demonstrate capsizing. So, into the freezing ocean I went... it was brilliant fun!!
After a very hot shower and wander around Brighton's many veg-friendly shops, it was off to dinner - where about 20 of my friends magically appeared! It was wonderful...
My friend Dr Mike Hooper very kindly gave me a walking stick, now that I'm elderly.
No rest for the wicked though, as I'm in training for our Vegan 15 Peaks Challenge (www.vegan15peaks.info) next weekend. So the next day I did 50 laps of Brighton's main cliff.
