  • We started our coastal hike in Ventnor. From there we planned to walk most of the South-West coast.

  • All around us the English were hard at work, desperately preparing for the winter weather notorious on this unsheltered coast, as they have done for generations. (STILL sceptical about climate change anyone!?!)

  • After battling for hours (well, minutes at least) through the wilds we stumbled, hot and thirsty into this isolated former fishing hamlet. It was time for another drink break, and some shelter from the elements (i.e., shade).
