A vegan al fresco dinner was cooked for us by our host, who also provided non-vegan options for the other guests. Knowing we were the only six guests in the world staying on the reef that night, we felt incredibly privileged. We were 'entertained' by the racing and splashing of hunting fish and their prey attracted to the lights of the pontoon at night. We even saw a 5 foot shark. One fish leapt 3 m clear of the water. Occasional bursts of fluorescence were also visible.
The next day, I went on a chopper ride over the reef.
I'm pretty sure this guy has the world's best job.
