Antigua in October

In October I was invited to St Kitts in the Caribbean to interview for a position at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. Little did I realise however that one of the biggest tropical storms of the season had just passed...

The 8-odd hour flight from London first touches down here at Antigua. We were supposed to make a short hop to St Kitts, but just as we were about to depart, they closed the airport there due to the weather. The tropical storm wasn't quite over...
This required BA to suddenly find accommodation 400-odd passengers for the night. I was excited to discover they were bussing us to a resort! However, it wasn't quite what I expected...
Unfortunately, a lot of the resort was actually underwater
The corridors inside weren't much better. To get to the restaurant required a detour via the swimming pool - and a very large umbrella!
At least there was always the beach

Although a lot of that was underwater too
