Peruvian adventures in August

In August I was invited to Peru by national animal protection organisation UPA to give a series of presentations on humane education, animal experimentation and several other animal protection issues (see pics).     And here are the South (L) and North (R) summits of Mt Huascaran. Rising to 6768 m, the South summit is highest, and is, I think, the highest mountain in the world outside of the Himalayas. My trailhead is below the mountain.
    I occasionally enjoyed the company of others.
    Then it was back to Lima on another amazing overnight bus with a bed, then straight onto a plane to Tacna at the Southern of Peru, then back to Lima for more talks. On the last day of talks we visited a veterinary school on the edge of Lima. Nearby was a ruined Inca city, half buried under the shifting desert sands. Our faithful driver Jamie here drove us nearly everywhere. We couldn't speak each others' languages but still managed to get on well.
