Peruvian adventures in August

In August I was invited to Peru by national animal protection organisation UPA to give a series of presentations on humane education, animal experimentation and several other animal protection issues (see pics).     The amazing Chacraraju rises to 6,112 m above the Laguna. These mountains are the world's highest outside of the Himalayas. There are many peaks above 6,000 m here.
    The ice-climbing in those flutings is spectacular, and horrifically dangerous (at least, that's how the famous mountaineer Joe Simpson described it). He had mountaineering accident and epic survival adventure not too far from here, which he recounts in his book and movie Touching the Void.
    And what a ridge walk that would be...
