Vienna in November

In November the Austrian Association Against Animal Factories, and the University of Veterinary Medicine's Messerli Institute, invited me to Vienna to deliver two presentations on animal experimentation and alternatives. Never having visited this fabled birthplace of art, culture and home of Mozart, Beethoven and other geniuses, I was keen to visit. Even more importantly, Vienna was also home to the fabled basilisk!

    This pub was famously owned by a chap who was mistaken for a plague victim because he was so drunk he appeared dead. He was taken out of the city and tossed onto a body pile. However, he woke up, returned to the city, and avoided becoming ill, which was thereafter attributed to his alcohol, ensuring the everlasting success of his pub!
    Vienna has some spectacular clocks!
    These figurines were about 5 feet high.
