Title Day 1
The Calendonian Sleeper was brilliant! You leave London about 10 pm, and wake up in the Scottish Highlands!
We had a twin bunk cabin with its own miniature bathroom – a super fun experience!
Caledonian Sleeper breakfast
We were delayed slightly which was awesome as we got to see more of the Highlands in the early morning light (vs. darkness).

It was really wild out there - and freezing. Brilliant to watch from the comfort of the dining car! Or one's morning shave, out of our cabin window :)

Finally, we arrived in Fort William, picked up a hire car (they deliver to the train station!) and headed straight for Glencoe here.

We arrived at the ski area, only to discover there was almost no skiing due to lack of snow - climate change! Remember, I timed this February trip to coincide with the deepest snow based on historical records. Climate change... unfortunately the days of Scottish skiing appear very numbered...

A slightly more adventurous route. Although I seem to have forgotten my legs...
We were dead keen to get to that far ridge, but it was late in the day and we could see bad weather approaching...
